Just moved into your new home…and there are Nest Protect smart smoke detectors installed

If you've moved into your 🏡 new home and there are Nest Protect smart smoke detectors installed, here are the steps to pair them to your 📱 smartphone,

Step 1: DOWNLOAD the “Nest” app on your smartphone and create a new account, or if you already have an account, log in

Step 2: ADD a device: tap the "+" icon in the top left corner of the app and select "Add Product" from the list of options. In the next screen, select "Smoke Detector" as the device you want to add.

Step 3: SELECT "Already Installed": Instead of scanning the QR code, select the "Already Installed" option at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4: CHOOSE your smoke detector: The app will then prompt you to choose the location of the smoke detector you want to pair with your phone.

Step 5: PRESS the Smoke Detector Button: You're likely gonna need a ladder for this step, once you have selected the location, the app will instruct you to press and hold the button on the smoke detector until the LED light starts flashing blue.

Step 6: CONNECT to Wi-Fi: The app will then guide you through the process of connecting your smoke detector to your Wi-Fi network.Complete the pairing process: Once your smoke detector is connected to your Wi-Fi network, the app will complete the pairing process and add your smoke detector to your Nest account.

Step 7: TEST your smoke detector: After you have successfully paired your smoke detector with your phone, it's a good idea to test it to make sure it's working correctly. You can do this by pressing the button on the smoke detector, which will trigger a test alarm.

THAT’S IT! Your Nest Smart Smoke Detector is now paired with your phone, and you can use the Nest app to monitor its status, receive alerts, and control its settings.
